As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen some beautiful dresses and their alternatives over the years. I’ve always admired the women who have truly made their wedding dress their own whether they bought it off the shelf or went for a bespoke option. The world is your oyster when choosing your wedding dress with lots of options for accessories too. There’s plenty of options out there for every type of bride whether you’re looking for a classic gown, a fitted romantic number or a more adventurous bohemian style. Suzanne Neville at Sharon Hoey Bridal Boutique
Lorraine initally struggled to choose between a fitted dress and ones with fuller skirts, in the end, she didn’t have to choose! She chose a beautiful Carmella dress from the Suzanne Neville line at Sharon Hoey Bridal Boutique in Dublin. The fantastic Sharon was so helpful and made a detachable skirt so Lorraine didn’t have to decide between styles. ‘They completed the alterations, shortening the train so I could dance the night away!’ So if you have your eye on a particular dress and it’s not quite right or you are stuck between styles consider getting an alteration to create your perfect dress for your 2021 wedding!

Rue De Seine at Lovely Bride, London
Morgan & Alan had decided on an elopement at their own private castle on Charleville Estate which called for an extraordinary wedding dress which would match the beautiful surroundings. Morgan choose the incredible Rue De Seine, based in New Zealand, they design bespoke wedding dresses with an ethereal and classic nature. These dresses are the epitome of an elegant yet carefree aesthetic, with plenty of fine detailing, trains and french lace. They are made for your outdoor portrait session with a backdrop of dramatic skies and the wind blowing through your hair. From the beaded elements on the bodice, the flowing train and the stunning cut outs at the back, Morgan’s wedding dress was such a beautiful choice for her elopement. Morgan paired her wedding dress with a custom made head piece designed by Luna Bea, an ethical designer based in the UK and jewellery from the New Zealand designer, Meadowlark who is a friend of Morgan’s.

For Heather’s Scottish themed wedding to Ned, she chose a wedding dress brand that exudes timeless elegance. Rue De Seine at The White Gallery
The second mention of Rue De Seine on the list, I simply couldn’t exclude Irene’s stunning wedding dress! When looking for her wedding dress, Irene wanted something romantic, bohemian and feminine. She found her dream Rue De Seine wedding dress at The White Gallery in Newry. With white french lace, delicate buttons along the back along with a beautiful train, Irene was delighted she had found the perfect dress. The high low hem meant she could show off her gorgeous white and gold Ted Baker wedding shoes. As her wedding was in the depths of October, Irene wanted something to cover her shoulders from the inevitable chill. She commissioned Jill Wilde at Wilde by Design to make a bespoke cape so she could brave the elements. She also made her veil which was a perfect match for her French lace gown.

Caroline Castigliano at The Little White Dress Boutique
Caroline Castigliano is a British born designer who creates effortlessly glamorous wedding dresses that are perfectly relaxed and chic. This was exactly what Pauline was looking for when choosing the perfect wedding dress for her and Stuart’s intimate wedding ceremony at the beautiful Cliff House Hotel. Pauline chose a beautiful dress from the Everlasting collection, with it’s full length skirt adding lots of glamour paired with the delicate bodice with ribbon ties on the back. Her wedding dress truly shone during their portrait session at twilight overlooking the ocean.

Anne-Marie’s wedding dress was made for their chosen venue of Tankardstown House, with it’s full length skirt and fitted detailed bodice with off the shoulder design.
