Alex & Mary’s Dublin Mountain Engagement Session
When Alex and Mary told me they got engaged during a hike, I knew we had to incorporate some gorgeous hiking spots into their engagement photos. I suggested a Dublin Mountain engagement session, as the Dublin Mountains are a favourite of mine!
I love exploring the Dublin Mountains because no matter the weather, the light illuminates the little valley so nicely. It ended up being an overcast day for Alex and Mary’s engagement session, but the light was still so beautiful on the trees.
We explored during the morning the mountains and then hiked our way to Lough Tay- also known as Guinness Lake. The shape of the lake, along with the white sand, makes it look like a pint of Guinness. This is one of the most photographed spots in Wicklow and is an iconic location in Ireland. We spent a lot of time on the banks of the lake and hiking from spot to spot. We actually lost track of time and before we knew it, we were stuck in a rain storm!
Alex and Mary laughed and laughed and laughed and made the most of the rain. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much! We embraced the rain and got some stunning images from it. Once the rain let up, we eventually made our way back to the car. It was so slippery that I actually fell flat into the mud on the hike back from Lough Tay! It was such a special day and I am so thankful that I could capture Alex and Mary’s love in such an authentic way during their Dublin Mountain Engagement Session.
