The Morning

Brendan and Caoimhe’s wedding at the lodge at Ashford Castle was simply beautiful. Brendan started his day with his friends and family at his and Caoimhe’s house. There was a gorgeous atmosphere, a nice buzz about the house with excitement building as the time to travel Lodge at Ashford Castle approached. Meanwhile, Caoimhe got ready at her parents house fuelled by lots of tea and the occasional drop of champagne. Then it was time to hop into her Dad’s beloved MG and hit the road to Ashford.

The Ceremony at Ashford Lodge

After the getting-ready portion of their morning, we all travelled down to Ashford Castle for their wedding ceremony. Outside, on the front lawn of the Lodge, final preparations were underway on the ceremony location. The front lawn is a beautiful spot for a ceremony as it overlooks the lake and the rest of the Ashford Castle estate. The ceremony was filled with personal touches, readings from friends and of course, the vows from Brendan & Caoimhe. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t behaving and the rain came quick and fast just as they were saying their vows.

After a beautiful ceremony, we took hopped in the Landrover to explore Ashford Castle’s grounds. We spent some time wandering around the Castle grounds and it was such a beautiful afternoon. We explored the rose garden and the forest on the estate. The rain held off long enough for Brendan & Caoimhe to practice their first dance amongst the trees.

The Reception at Ashford Lodge

We soon entered the Lodge for the drinks reception before Brendan & Caoimhe made their grand entrance into dinner. After amazing speeches from both families, it was time to get on the dance floor. To say that the dance floor was heaving would be an understatement! Everyone rushed on at once and celebrated this incredible new chapter for Brendan & Caoimhe, there was so much love in the room!
